This day was not so eventful. We are getting our Critter to start behaving though! We sat at home most of friday! My mom stopped by and so did my brother. My daughter smacked her father in the face and got into trouble for it. It was a very eventful day for her as she got punished by 3 people for misbehaving and now she thinks we are all on the same page and all I can think is it is about DAMN time something good happens!
So we did almost all of our christmas shopping at toys-r-us.com as we didn't want to get out on black friday, and we didn't want to have to get a sitter on our come to Jesus vacation! (this is the week we make our kid realize she is the child and these things wont be accepted any longer!)
So with al that said we finished our toys R us nightmare and now we like nothing more than a few objects. Toys R US never said how long it was going to take for these items to get there hopefully not long christmas is getting closer and closer!
Friday we stuck to the house eating left overs and drinking that is it! Nothing more nothing less. Made myself some spiked eggnog, turned on Nancy Grace, and went to bed.
Before that I put togeather our 7 ft fake tree! (yes fake indeed, no live tree to have to try to get rid of after the holidays! So thankful) but I had failed to get all the decorations out of the building so we didn't decorate FOOTBALL TIME TOMORROW GOING TO THE GAME
Thanksgiving day! Part 1. Thursday Nov 25th 2010
Yes that is right Thanksgiving throughout the weekend! LOL!
So we ate turkey till we couldn't eat turkey no more. We deepfried 2 of those birds. Now with the turkey deepfryer you must be careful. So we had come up with a method all our own.
Step one thaw your Turkey very well a few days! Once thawn out you should start injecting with the injection of your choice! Creole butter is my choice it is not spicy, but very buttery.
So after you inject it for atleast 24 hours using up to 2 bottles of creole butter you put the turkey on the Stand that comes with your deep fryer set it somewhere where it can drain any excess liquids and that way you don't have an over boil in your pot.
Get your pot heated to the proper temperature 375 is recommended but you want it to be a 400 as once you get the turkey in it will come down and you can let it get back up to 375 and then turn your heat down.
When it is time to put the turkey in, get a friend and use pot holders on all hands! Now take the lid off the deep fryer take the deep fryer off the flame (this is why you get it up to 400....drop your turkey in once you are a safe distance from the flame. Lower it in slowly but once you have it in put lid on pot have a towel handy to wipe excess juices off sides (do all this quickly you don't want the temp dropping too low.) then place pot back on fryer burner!
Hopefully your pot is still at a steady 350 or 375! If not turn heat up as high as it will go... get your turkey back to 375! turn heat down low and deepfry for three minutes per pound!
So we said our thanks! My daughter though cute very mischevious was thankful for all her pets.. she named them off.. heres about how it went I am thankful for Daisy, Big Boy, Scrappy, Kitty, Party, TUCK, Mommy and Daddy and Grammy and papaw.
My parents showed up finally and Buddy told them she said she was thankful for them and I not thinking said "she also said she was thankful for the dogs! I got scolded lightly for that one!
You get beautiful juicy turkeys! like these:
