Swim Lessons and Rain Storms

Yes the title is correct. Kailey has been doing swim lessons. This is her second week. The first week she did them she only got to go 2 days out of 4 because of rain storms. We haven't had rain all summer and on the two weeks I chose to do swim lessons we have been rained out 3 times total now. On Monday this week she did get to go but it rained on Tuesdays lesson and it was canceled. Wednesday was great she is doing well but she hasn't gotten to do the full lessons every day so she has only moved up one level since she started. They have the opportunity to move up to 5 levels.

I told her father that if she didn't learn  well enough this year we would have her in lessons all summer next year which would be like 120 for 6 weeks of class. I don't mind sending her it is a safety hazard not knowing how to swim. She needs to be a good swimmer.

He claims if she doesn't know how to swim after two weeks of lessons then he will be pissed but he doesn't realize that the missed days are what is hurting the most. Kailey is a Level two. She started as a Level one, her first lesson she tested in as a level one and by her second lesson they moved her to level two.

Enough about swimming...

This weekend I will be trying to make plans to go to see Magic Mike with my cousin Erin. I hope we get to go. I wish we could have a girl night and go to the Drive in movies even though they are not playing anything I want to see. I just wanted to see Chernobyl Diaries, which played there last weekend after the Amazing Spider man. I think the drive in is awesome. Though the first time I went was a few weeks ago with my daughter to see Brave and What to expect when you are expecting.

This week it is the Dark Knight (the Batman movie) followed by a musical called Rock Of Ages... not my thing. I could probably get drunk and enjoy it. I want to have a WOMAN day... and go out with my friends and do something fun, and come home at like 3 in the morning like the men do... but it really isnt all that interesting... I don't care to do those things... I can't hold my head up after midnight but I want to do them because Buddy does. I hate sitting at home at midnight fighting sleep waiting for him to come home. I want to go out unplanned just on a whim and tell him "I don't know what we are doing, they just invited me out, see ya" lol.

He doesn't go out often but when he does that is how it is. Like last friday, I was on my way home from work, and he had been off all day, I had to cancel my daughter's doctors apointment cause he didn't want to have to take her. Then when I get home he gets up "going to jeffs" and he leaves and doesn't come home till 3 am... of course I gave up on him coming home soon and went to bed way back at 11:30pm.

Anyways, Emma saw another little baby at the pool yesterday while we were waiting on Kailey. She was soo excited she got upset.. we were sitting with the lady and her baby is the same age as Emma so they wanted to grab each others face and clothes. Emma squeeled and got a bit dramatic. It was funny it was like they were somewhat jelous of each other. Emma was a bit more mean than he was... but she is a bit dramatic at times.

Well hopefully it will not storm all weekend and we can go do something outside. Kailey missed the Jr. Rangers meeting last friday because of the storm. I hope we get to go tomorrow night. Kailey has Swim Lessons so we have to do that tomorrow as well, but either way I am

SO... I have the worst sunburn ever. Maybe not the worst thus far... but it hurts. I have had 5 days off work. So here is the rundown of what I did on my 5 day vacation.

Day 1 was Wednesday July 4th
We woke up and Buddy went hiking by himself, I spent the morning cleaning so I could leave to go meet Melissa at her house. It took me 2 hours to pack everything Kailey, Emma and I needed for our little escape on the 4th.

We got to Melissa's about 1:30 and we all left and went to her mom and step dads camping spot to have some good fourth of July fun. I took Kailey down to the lake and let her play. Then we ate dinner. It was fun. My family doesn't do anything as a family and if they did it would more than likely be a very GOOFY no common sense time.

I took Kailey back down to the lake after we ate and someone with 4 children had pulled their pontoon boat in the swimming spot, they had all kinds of neat water toys though and invited Kailey to get in and try out some stuff. Kailey Kayaked, swam and had a bit of fun. Then we went back up to the camp site and Bud (Melissa's Step Father) took us all out on the pontoon. Except for Emma who stayed behind with Melissa's mother.

We saw a house on the lake with a SUPER slide. By Super this thing was a quarter mile of fun... I only wish we could have played on it. It went from the lake up past the house and all the way up to the road... It looked like an awesome time. I am sure these people knew how to have fun! This is the kind of thing I will own one day when I am old and past the age of having fun but my children and their children will enjoy it either way and I will have fun watching them and attempting to use it myself while the children say "dont break a hip grandma". By the way my goal is to be like sophia off of the Golden girls when I get OLD!

So continueing with my 2nd day of vacation. On Thursday the 5th Melissa baby sat Emma for buddy and I so we could go to the mountains and I could see them off on their hiking adventure after he Kailey and I played in the creek.

A snake was in the creek so Kailey and I got out. Then we all got back in after it was gone. We went over across the deep part of the creek and sat on a large rock that was in the creek but poked up out of it. Buddy had a beach chair and was sitting in it and I was on the rock. Kailey was swimming around in the water, with her life jacket on. Then I saw it under the water at the bottom of the deep part swimming towards us another snake. What is worse I lost site of it for a split second but long enough to say snake, then buddy was like its at your feet... I jumped up out of that water and hurt myself just to get away... then it poked its head up out of the water right where I was standing. We left after that.... it was hilarious after the fact but it was a harmless water snake.

So Kailey and buddy went on their hiking trip and I went back and got them because there was a bad storm coming.... good thing though cause 2 people died in the area and there was mass destruction in Cades Cove, you couldn't get into the park for 2 days and there is no cell phone service they wouldn't have been able to call me and tell me they were OK.

Friday: I don't recall all we did but Kailey and I went to eat lunch at our favorite resturaunt. Then I went with Erin and I went to drop off Emily. Erin hang out here for a while. Then she went home and we just hung out at home. Buddy and I went to academy and got water shoes... that was fun.

Saturday: Went to the Oak Ridge pool with Amanda Patterson, I got BURNT, Emma was good though she didn't get burnt. Later I just hung out with my cousin Erin for a while went to pick Emily up after 8. Then we all came home and chilled.

Sunday: Buddy and I got to go to the mountains without the girls we saw some Bear's. There were 3 of them. One walked up on us while we were hiking, the other was on the road, and the last one was at the mouth of the cove walking. It was fun we had dinner, then came home to get the girls and get ready for the long work week.
